Looking Premiering in HBO, Compared to Girls and Queer as Folk, Shot in San Francisco


Yay! ‘Looking’ is going to premiere today, that’s Sunday, January 19, 2014, on HBO tv series, which has a plot of a group of gay friends who live their lives in San Francisco, which has also been compared to a lot of TV series which has a plot with a group of friends living in a big city like HBO’s tv series, ‘Girls’.

     ‘Looking’ has also had a comparision with the British Gay TV series ‘Queer as Folk’ which also happens to be about a group of gay friends living in a series. These comparision of ‘Looking’ with ‘Queer as Folk’ or ‘Girls’ have been made a lot but the question is how well will this show work.

    Jonathan Groff, who stars as Patrick in ‘Looking’ said in an interview that if you liked ‘Girls’ or ‘Queer as Folk’ then you would probably like Looking as well. He added that once someone starts watching the show he would see that Looking is different and unique from others and after watching a couple of episodes, Jonathan Groff says that the audience would see how looking stands out from the others.

  T.J. Linnard, who guest stars in ‘Looking’ said that the audience needs to related themselves in the show so that they would make out what’s distinct about the show.

    Another star from ‘Looking’, Raul Castillo, who plays the role of Richie, said that he hopes that even ‘Looking’ comes out to be as successful as the various shows it has been compared to, he also expresses the show comes up to what they have expected. Raul Castillo adds that ‘Looking’ is something that has never been seen in tv and it is quite different from the compared shows. He says that it is a great show and hopes that the audience loves the show and its characters like in the shows it has been compared to.

   ‘Looking’ set in the City of Bay, San Francisco, they were fortunate to make the show entirely on such a location making it a more realistic scenario. Jonathan Groff said that the city of San Francisco itself is like another character of the series and working in the city was a blast for the actors. Raul Castillo too had something to say about the shots in the city and said San Francisco was a dream city to be working in and made the show beautiful in so many ways.

So guys, stay tuned, ‘Looking’ premieres today, actually tonight at 10:30 pm, ET/PT January 19 on HBO so don’t miss it.
